Day centre for people with disabilities in Kočani: the minister opened it, capacity is 12 users a month

A day centre for people with disabilities has opened in Kočani. Attending the opening were Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth Gjoko Velkovski, mayor Vladko Grozdanov and the Secretary General of the Red Cross, Sait Saiti.

According to the minister, the centre will offer support, activities for personal development, socialisation and greater independence, tailored to each user's needs. It is intended for people over 26 with severe physical, intellectual or combined disabilities. Capacity: 12 users a month.

For families who carry that kind of load every single day, every new place means a lot. But 12 places is a number that needs an answer, not just a photo with a minister, a mayor and cameras. How many people with severe disabilities live in the Kočani area, and how many of them will be left at the door? That figure wasn't mentioned at the opening.

Velkovski says the ministry is continuing to expand social services so that they are "accessible and close to citizens". Fine. Then let the next announcement come with a plan - how many places, in which towns, and by when.
