Hilary Swank is pregnant with her third child at 52: "This one premieres in December"

Hilary Swank has two Oscars, and she announced one of the biggest pieces of news in her life without a red carpet. At 52, the actress is expecting her third child - and she revealed it with a video of the whole family dancing in the dark, dressed in clothes with fluorescent lights tracing their silhouettes.

The video features her husband Philip Schneider and the twins Aya and Ohm, born in April 2023, when Swank was 48. The surprise comes at the end: a small figure glows on her belly - the baby on the way.

In the caption she joked about the question she says plenty of people have been asking her - what her next project is. "This one premieres in December," she wrote. The biggest role of her year, then, has no script and no shoot.

Swank, known for Million Dollar Baby, married Schneider in August 2018 in an intimate ceremony in California. She keeps her children away from the media, so this video is a rare glimpse into her home.

She has spoken openly about becoming a mother later in life. In an interview with People magazine she said it simply worked out that way - having children much later - and that this is exactly why she can give them a presence and time she might not have had at the peak of her career. Swank is living proof that the calendar of motherhood isn't written by relatives at the family lunch table.
