Horse Jumper of Love, the Boston band that helped drag slowcore back into the indie rock conversation, play club Pave in Sofia on 16 November 2026. Doors at 20:00.

The group formed in 2013 and has kept the same line-up ever since - Dimitri Giannopoulos on vocals and guitar, John Margaris on bass and Jamie Vadala-Doran on drums. Their sound is slow, measured indie rock with slowcore roots, the kind that asks for patience and then pays it back.

The self-titled debut is a story about how sometimes the best thing happens when nobody is watching. Written in a basement, put out quietly on Bandcamp and on cassette in 2016 by Disposable America, it got a wider release on vinyl and streaming the following year through Run For Cover Records. Ten years later that record counts as one of the essential releases of the decade, and one of the ones that pulled slowcore and shoegaze back out of obscurity.

Since then there have been five studio albums - "So Divine" in 2019, "Natural Part" in 2022, "Heartbreak Rules" in 2023 and "Disaster Trick" in 2024. With each one the sound thickens: strings, bigger guitars, a harder rhythm section. This year an expanded and remastered ten-year edition of the debut also came out.
