French designer Nicolas Ghesquière presented Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2027 collection at The Frick Collection in New York - a ceremony that opened a three-year sponsorship partnership between the brand and the museum. The presentation gathered the kind of stars who said this was one of the most interesting fashion nights of the year, though every one of them has a reason to say so.

Zendaya wore a grey silk mini dress with an asymmetric neckline, pleated details and "long, voluminous sleeves". Anne Hathaway picked a grey knit shirt-dress with contrasting white collar and cuffs, alongside oversized sunglasses and a monogrammed trunk bag. Emily Blunt wore a checked look from the Autumn/Winter 2026-2027 collection with a bolero, baggy trousers and a lace top.

Among the other guests were Cate Blanchett with fringe details and trousers tucked into leather gaiters, Amy Adams in a classic black suit, and Emma Stone in a minimalist black set. Spanish model Blanca Soler wore a light-blue V-neck design from Spring/Summer 2026. HoYeon Jung paired a sheer camisole with a leather jacket. The presentation also drew Jennifer Connelly, Alicia Vikander, Chase Infiniti, Iris Law, Stacy Martin and Chloë Sevigny.

The collection's theme is "playful nostalgia" - childlike embroidered motifs, oversized buttons, designs inspired by building forts and forest adventures. Ghesquière added tent-shaped hats and animal motifs. For the Balkan eye, this might be "global fashion pretending to be a child", but in New York it added up to a successful evening. The question is how far the quiet partnership with the Frick will open the museum's doors to fashion - and how far fashion will be allowed to play inside temples of classical painting.
