Belgrade metal-punk band Mortal Kombat plays Vukovar on October 3, in the hangar of the "Borovo" Aero Club. The night is called "Hangažiranje", starts at 7:30 p.m., and the opening act is Lamb of Gini, a tribute to America's Lamb of God.
Mortal Kombat was formed in Belgrade in 2009. The sound is heavy, the lyrics are provocative and satirical, and the subject is always the same: the society and the environment we live in. The debut album "Smrtonosna šorka" came out in 2011, followed by "Runda 2, Udri!" in 2013 and "Besprekorna pobeda" in 2016, and the sixth studio album, "Bludni sin", was released at the end of 2023.
The numbers are unusual for a band still filed as underground: views of their songs reach two million apiece. Croatian audiences are nothing new for them, but a concert in an aircraft hangar is something else. Is that the most fitting venue for a band named after a fighting video game? We'll see.
Presale tickets cost 16 euros (about 986 denars) and are sold via entrio.hr. Vukovar is in eastern Croatia, on the border with Serbia, so for audiences from Vojvodina it's a short trip.
