Karposh starts its autumn rat control: around 5,000 manholes to be covered by the end of the year

Skopje's Karposh municipality, through a licensed contractor, has started its annual autumn rodent control campaign. It will run until the end of the calendar year and cover around 5,000 manholes across the whole municipality.

The municipality says the campaign is part of the programme of its protection and rescue department and is carried out regularly to control and eliminate harmful rodents and to prevent infectious diseases from appearing and spreading. Before this, disinfection, insect control and rodent control were carried out in all municipal primary schools and kindergartens.

It's good when a municipality works to a schedule rather than to an alarm. But 5,000 manholes in roughly three months is a commitment that will be tested on the ground. If the rats keep strolling around the bins, residents will know whether the campaign really reached every manhole.
