Finnish rock, for many in the generation that grew up on In the Shadows, means literally an entire era, and that era is coming back to Belgrade. The Rasmus play on March 16, 2027 at the mts Hall - a concert announced far enough ahead that anyone in the region for whom the 2000s are etched through this band can mark the date.
The Rasmus are one of the most successful names Finland has produced, together for almost thirty years now. Global fame came in 2003 with In the Shadows, a song that broke through every barrier - over 100 million streams on Spotify and more than 90 million views on YouTube, a sound that for many was the soundtrack of their high school days. The Helsinki quartet of Lauri Ylonen and company became known for the dark-melodic rock that sat somewhere between goth and pop.
In 2022 the band represented Finland at Eurovision in Turin with Jezebel, finishing 21st in the final. That same year a special version of their biggest hit came out - In The Shadows of Ukraine, recorded together with the Ukrainian winners Kalush Orchestra as a gesture of solidarity. A band that started as a teenage project now carries a catalogue nearly three decades long.
The concert at the mts Hall starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are sold through tickets.rs. For a show announced this far ahead, the crowd has plenty of time to plan the evening - and to pull out of mothballs the chorus everyone knows.
