US intelligence services assess that Iran continues to maintain control over the state and that the Iranian government is not in immediate danger of collapse - despite nearly two weeks of US-Israeli bombardment, according to three sources familiar with the situation.

The assessment shows that Iranian leadership remains coherent, and the regime maintains public order despite the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior officials, including commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

According to US intelligence assessments, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and interim leaders have retained authority over the country. Kurdish militias in neighboring Iraq requested coordination with the US for potential operations against Iranian forces, but intelligence reports note that these groups do not have "sufficient firepower" and numbers to seriously threaten Iranian security forces.

Kurdish factions recently requested military support, including weapons and armored vehicles, but President Trump rejected the possibility of direct intervention in Iran.
