The Vienna Schönbrunn Orchestra comes to Hall 1 of the NDK in Sofia on 14 December 2026 with a golden Christmas gala concert. It starts at 18:30.

The orchestra is tied to Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, where it plays regularly in the Orangery - the largest of its kind in Europe. The programme it takes across Europe is the one by which the Viennese concert tradition is recognised: selected works by Mozart in the first half, and in the second the best-known operetta arias, waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss, among them "Die Fledermaus", "The Gypsy Baron", "The Blue Danube" and the "Radetzky March".

The format is not orchestral alone. The orchestra is joined by two opera singers - a soprano and a baritone - and two ballet dancers in authentic period costume. That makes the evening more of a staged production than a classical concert, which is exactly why these tours fill large halls across Europe in the December weeks.

The date falls when Sofia is deep in its pre-holiday season. Tickets are sold through eventim.bg. Hall 1 of the NDK is the largest concert hall in the Bulgarian capital, so for readers from Macedonia planning a December trip towards Sofia, this is one of the safer bets in the calendar.
