Kisela Voda has gained a new sports zone - the first of its kind in the municipality. In the 11 Oktomvri-Baraki neighbourhood, near the Chess Park, a calisthenics park and a beach volleyball court have opened, meant for recreation and socialising for citizens of all ages.
The calisthenics park spreads across 380 square metres and is equipped with pull-up bars, parallel bars and wall ladders for training strength and flexibility. The beach volleyball court has a net at regulation height, and the whole zone is lit by floodlights, allowing use in the evening hours as well.
„With this project we are continuing to invest in sports infrastructure and to create modern conditions for an active and healthy life for citizens of all ages,“ said mayor Beti Stamenkoska-Trajkoska.
An open sports court in a neighbourhood that had none until now - that is a small thing that makes a difference in daily life. A place where a teenager can work out in the evening instead of just sitting around, where neighbours can meet through play. Zones like this don't solve big problems, but they change the way a neighbourhood lives. All that's left now is to maintain them - because opening is the easy part, and the real test comes in a year or two, when the floodlights need replacing and the sand needs refreshing.
