The Serbian Air Force has quietly equipped its MiG-29SM+ fighters with Chinese quasi-ballistic missiles CM-400AKG, a weapon with a range of over 250 kilometers that no other country's armed forces in the region possesses. Images of the missiles mounted on military aircraft appeared publicly.

President Aleksandar Vučić had previously stated: "The people cannot even imagine what we have and what we are acquiring." General Milan Mojsilović mentioned in February that the air component possesses assets with similar maximum range and lethal potential.

The CM-400AKG missile is manufactured by a Chinese producer, first publicly displayed in 2013. It measures 5.1 meters in length, 400mm caliber, weighs 910 kilograms, with a terminal phase speed of up to Mach 4.5. It exists in two warhead versions: 150kg blast-fragmentation or 200kg penetrator. The only confirmed foreign user is Pakistan, which integrated them on JF-17 Thunder fighters.

The acquisition positions the Serbian Air Force as the first regional military to possess air-launched weaponry of such speed and range.
