Taksirat holds its 28th edition on 7 December at the Jane Sandanski Sports Centre in Skopje. The programme features 11 acts from seven countries on two stages, with 14 hours of music in total, and a ticket costs 1,500 denars. The biggest name is British trip-hop group Morcheeba.

The festival started at MKC in 1999, then spent 17 years at the Skopje Fair, before moving to the Boris Trajkovski Arena. This year it goes to Jane Sandanski for the first time, and the organisers write openly that the long-standing tradition was broken "not of our own will". Who decided that a festival with 27 editions should change its address, and why, the statement doesn't tell us.

Morcheeba, the band celebrating 30 years this year, are among the names that defined trip-hop, with songs like "The Sea" and "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day". From Geneva comes Cadebostany, the project of Guillaume de Kadebostany, known for "Castle in the Snow" and "Mind If I Stay", whose cover of Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" made it onto the soundtrack of "Fifty Shades of Grey". The organiser cites over five billion streams. From Mostar comes Zoster, Mario Knezović's reggae-rock band founded in 2000, authors of "Majko Jamajko" and "Ko je jamio". From Osijek comes rapper Z++, for whom the organisers single out "Ljeto već je gotovo", "Kabriolet" and "Sedmo nebo". The line-up is completed by Egyptian techno producer Raxon and Azerbaijani pop-rap star Alizade.

The domestic part brings two 30-year anniversaries. Foltin, who have been playing since 1995 and take their name from Karel Čapek's novel about the composer Foltýn, and Smut, the Skopje hardcore band active since 1996. Skopje hip-hop innovators KEM will promote their new album, metal band Conspiracy arrive after winning the Zaječar Guitar Festival and taking second place at the Wacken Metal Battle, and Shur Shotz host the Shorty P stage.

Taksirat starts at 8 p.m., and 1,500 denars gets you the whole programme on both stages. Tickets are on sale via karti.com.mk and mktickets.mk.
