A truck hit a 65-year-old woman at a junction in Veles, she is seriously injured

A Ford truck with Veles plates, driven by 69-year-old P.S. from Veles, hit 65-year-old S.N., also from Veles. The crash was reported to the Veles police department on 29 September at around 10:45, at the junction of Kiro Kjuchuk, Belgradska and Vasil Glavinov streets.

The woman was taken to the General Hospital in Veles, where doctors found serious injuries. A Veles police team carried out an on-site investigation, and the authorities are establishing the circumstances of the crash.

So far the Interior Ministry's bulletin says nothing about speed, about whether the woman was on a pedestrian crossing, or about who had right of way. Those three answers are exactly what will tell us whether this was an accident or someone's failure - and they usually arrive much later than the bulletin, if they ever reach the public at all.

Traffic bulletins look the same every morning: initials, ages, street, hospital. Behind every line is a person who left home healthy that morning. How many bulletins have to pile up for one junction before someone checks whether it is safe?
