The wet-look hair the heat can't ruin: because it already looks like it just came out of the water

There's one hairstyle summer can't ruin - because it already looks like it just came out of the water. The „wet look” rules again this season, and the logic behind it is simpler than the ads want you to think: instead of fighting the humidity and the sweat, you accept them and build a style out of them.

The cleanest version is hair slicked straight back - the whole head coated in a strong shiny fixative, combed backward. It sits perfectly on shorter cuts and instantly draws out the lines of the face. From there the variations are endless: a bun with a side part, ends tied toward the nape, a high braid for summer evenings, even a „wet punk” with a tuft pushed upward.

The secret isn't in talent, it's in the products. Gel or mousse with strong hold for the shine, an anti-frizz spray so the hair doesn't split on the humidity. The market is packed with options - from Fenty Hair and Wella to Kérastase and Moroccanoil - with prices running from around ten euros to over fifty. And this is where a little scepticism belongs: you don't need a 51-euro serum to slick your hair back. You need a clean gel with good hold and a hand that knows where it's going.

The beauty of this trend is that it works with the July heat instead of pretending it isn't there. While everyone struggles to keep their hair „dry and voluminous” in forty degrees, the wet look simply accepts what the weather is going to do anyway - and comes out the winner.
