BEAT, the supergroup that plays the music of King Crimson from the eighties, comes to Sofia on July 9 to Hall 1 of the NDK. The lineup is enough to blow away any fan of progressive rock: Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, two former members of King Crimson, together with guitarist Steve Vai and Danny Carey, the drummer of Tool.

The BEAT project was formed in 2024 with a clear aim - to revive the albums "Discipline" (1981), "Beat" (1982) and "Three of a Perfect Pair" (1984), three records from the most experimental period of King Crimson in which Belew and Levin played a key role. Instead of playing a classic band repertoire, the four focus on this specific, rhythmically complex and now cult part of the group's body of work.

Each of the four carries a special weight. Adrian Belew is the voice and guitar of those albums, Tony Levin is one of the most respected bass players in the world with the Chapman Stick as his trademark, Steve Vai is a virtuoso who needs no introduction, and Danny Carey of Tool is among the most respected drummers of contemporary rock. The European tour runs in June and July 2026 across eighteen countries, and the Sofia concert is part of that route.

Tickets are available via ticketstation.bg. The concert is in Hall 1 of the NDK in Sofia, and for readers thinking about travelling - Sofia is about four hours' drive from eastern Macedonia, which makes this show a realistic option for the local prog-rock audience.
