The Italian band Calibro 35 plays Zagreb's Vintage Industrial Bar on December 6. Doors open at 8 p.m., the concert starts at 9:15 p.m., and entry is 17 euros in advance or 20 euros on the day.

Calibro 35 is a Milan band formed in 2007 as a studio project reinterpreting Italian film soundtracks from the sixties and seventies. The 2008 debut album mixed covers with original compositions, drew critical praise and won an award for the best Italian tour in 2009. Then came "Traditori di tutti" in 2013 and "Momentum" in 2020, by which point the material was entirely their own.

Their reference points are the composers Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov, Franco Micalizzi and Armando Trovajoli - the golden era of Italian film music. The difference between homage and imitation is whether the band has songs of its own, and Calibro 35 now writes television soundtracks too, among them the series Blanca.

That their material got noticed well beyond Italy is clear from what happened to the title track of their third album: Dr Dre sampled it on "One Shot One Kill" with Snoop Dogg, on the 2015 album "Compton". Tickets are available through entrio.hr, which works out to roughly 1,047 to 1,232 denars.
