French DJ Dimitri From Paris plays Zagreb's Peti Kupe on September 25, as part of the Discoton night, alongside Delfonic and Pytzek. Doors on the decks at 11pm, and the programme runs until five in the morning.

Dimitrios Yerasimos was born in Istanbul in 1963 to Greek parents and grew up in Paris. He is the man who brought house music into France at the end of the eighties, after picking up the techniques of American hip-hop DJs and becoming the first to play that music on French pirate radio. In 2005 the French state made him a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters - a rare honour for someone whose workplace is a club booth. That same year he made the double mix "Super Disco Friends" with Japanese producer DJ Muro, a return to his funk and disco roots.

What sets him apart is that he treats disco as an archive that rewards careful digging, not as a genre you raid for the famous choruses. His remixes of seventies classics are accepted both by record collectors and by an audience that heard the originals through him first. In 2006 he produced "Superpop Venezuela" by Los Amigos Invisibles, an album that earned a Grammy nomination.

Peti Kupe is a small-scale Zagreb club, which makes the night more interesting than a big festival set: a man who has assembled four decades of record archive plays a few metres from the crowd. Tickets through entrio.hr reach 50 euros, or around 3,080 denars for the top category.
