Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn plays Zagreb's THE HALL on September 19, put on by Enter Zagreb. Doors on the music at 11pm, finish at five in the morning - which means the night is built to last as long as club music actually lasts, rather than shutting down right as the room finally warms up.
Ferreck Dawn broke through in 2014 with "Love Too Deep", a track made together with Redondo. The real jump came in 2018 with "In Arms" alongside German duo Robosonic, a record that hit number one on Beatport and pulled in millions of plays. The version with Nikki Ambers on vocals, "In My Arms", brought him into the family at London's Defected, one of the most recognisable house labels in the world, and opened him up to a crowd that had not been following him until then.
His approach is tech-house with a strong vocal layer, which is a different animal from techno nights where the vocal is decoration. With Ferreck Dawn the hook carries the track, so the sets work in a club and on a big festival stage alike, without having to rewire how the records are strung together.
THE HALL is one of Zagreb's larger club rooms, so this night is closer to a concert than an intimate party. Tickets through entrio.hr go up to 45 euros, roughly 2,772 denars for the top tier, while the cheaper levels sell out in order of purchase.
