Iranian forces struck a Thai cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire on board the vessel Mayuri Nari. Of the 23 crew members total, 20 were rescued by the Omani Navy after abandoning ship. Three sailors remained trapped in the engine room of the stern section, where the projectile caused damage.

Thailand condemned the attack and summoned the Iranian ambassador. A spokesperson for Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated the country expresses "deep concern over the serious situation in the Middle East" and called on all parties to respect international law and exercise maximum restraint.

The Thai Navy requested the continuation of search operations from Omani authorities for the three missing sailors. The ship's owner, Precious Shipping Pcl, confirmed that the three were likely trapped at the moment of impact.
