Oil today is 67% more expensive than in the period before the war with Iran, and that blow is gradually passing through the entire economy.
That doesn't mean every product will automatically go up by exactly 67%, because oil is only one part of its final price. But it does mean that almost everything that depends on fuel, transport, plastic and petroleum products gets an additional cost.
We all pay for the war - at the petrol station, at the supermarket, in the shop and through every bill that has more expensive transport and production built into it.
When you fill up the car - you pay for more expensive fuel. When you buy food - transport is built into its price. When you buy clothes, electronics, building materials or any other product - once again there is transport, production, packaging and energy.
However hard someone tries to hide behind big words - geopolitics, interests, strategies and military goals - in the end there is one simple truth:
We all pay the price of reckless decisions. The person who goes to work in the morning and has to fill up the car pays. The family pays when it goes to the supermarket. The farmer pays through fuel, the haulier through transport, the company through production, and in the end it is once again the consumer who pays.
Someone may make a decision in a few minutes, from a safe office thousands of kilometres away from the conflict.
That is exactly why, however much someone hides behind politics, war or "higher interests", the bill always ends up with the ordinary person.
