Aries

Aries will start something new mid-week today, which is rare for them - they usually wait for Monday so the starting point is tidy. It will be small: an application, a message, one first page. By Friday they will mention it as though it had been running for months.

Taurus

Taurus will talk more than they listen today, for the first time in a long while. They will tell a story with details nobody asked for - about a price, about a journey, about a person they met. Someone at the table will look at them differently, not badly, but as though seeing them for the first time.

Gemini

Gemini will be in a situation today where they have to wait for an answer that does not depend on them. They will hold out until two in the afternoon without nudging the person. That is a personal record and there is nobody they can announce it to.

Cancer

Cancer will refuse today to carry the bad mood somebody else walked into the room with. They will not ask what happened, will not adjust their tone, will not write the day off on their own account. They will carry on with their own business and the room will settle itself within twenty minutes - which has happened before without them noticing.

Leo

Leo will ask for something directly today, in words, instead of arranging the conversation so the other person offers it first. It will be as uncomfortable as they feared, exactly. They will get it in ten seconds, and the discomfort will last until evening - which is a bad trade only if you are counting the minutes.

Virgo

Virgo will decide something today without checking every variant. They will pick the second option they saw and close the page. The thought that it could have been done better will come back on Thursday, and by then it will be too late to ruin Wednesday.

Libra

Libra will stay out longer than planned today, with people they did not choose. They will catch themselves looking at their phone twice. When they get home they will not regret the time, but the fact that they spent all of it wondering when it would end.

Scorpio

Scorpio will believe something they are told today, without looking for a second source and without checking why they were told it right now. It will be true. What will bother them until evening is not whether they were lied to, but how much time they lose every day checking up on people who were not lying.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will return today to a place they have already been, and it will feel just as good as the first time. Not one new detail, not one discovery. Mid-week is the only time they do not need something to be different for it to be worth it.

Capricorn

Capricorn will leave their phone at home for half an hour today. Not deliberately - they will forget it. They will notice only halfway there and will not go back, and they will remember those thirty minutes longer than the whole of Wednesday.

Aquarius

Aquarius will realise today that something they are working on has already been done by somebody else, better and earlier. The first reaction will be to close it. The second, somewhere around five in the afternoon, will be to ask that person how they did it - and it is precisely that second reaction that separates this year from every previous one.

Pisces

Pisces will tell someone today that they miss them. Plainly, out loud, without wrapping it in a joke to leave themselves somewhere to retreat. The other side will stay quiet for a few seconds, and those seconds will be read the wrong way.
