The National Opera and Ballet performs the ballet "The Lady of the Camellias" to the music of Giuseppe Verdi on October 22 at 20:00. Armenian conductor Eduard Ambartsumyan leads the orchestra.
The dramatic basis is "La Traviata", Verdi's opera about a courtesan and the young man who falls in love with her. The choreography is by Vasily Medvedev from Russia, the libretto by Jana Temiz, while Pavol Juráš from Slovakia signs the sets, costumes and lighting. The production premiered on October 31, 2014, to an excellent audience response and positive reviews.
In the lead roles are Marija Kičevska Šokarovska as Marguerite and Francisco Jiménez Ruiz from Spain as Armand. The story moves from a ball, through the streets of Paris, to Marguerite's illness and the parting - Verdi without singing, where the body carries the arias.
A ticket costs 800 denars. Sales are at the house box office, whose phone numbers are published on operabalet.mk.
