Border police officers and traffic inspectors on the Gevgelija — Demir Kapija road stopped a 24-year-old driver from the Skopje village of Studeničani, suspected of migrant smuggling. When police signaled him to stop near Negotino, the driver did not comply and was forcibly stopped.

During a search of the vehicle, police found 10 Egyptian migrants inside. The migrants were transferred to the "Vinojug" Reception-Transit Centre in Gevgelija for further processing.

A criminal complaint for migrant smuggling was filed against the 24-year-old driver. The preliminary proceedings judge ordered 30 days of detention.
