Reporter Asked Trump About the Destroyed School in Iran — President: "I Don't Know Anything About That"

On February 28, the first day of US-Israeli strikes on Iran, an air strike destroyed a school in the city of Minab in southern Iran. According to Iranian authorities, more than 160 people were killed, mostly students, with around 100 more wounded.

US investigators believe American forces likely carried out the strike, although final findings have not yet been published. Preliminary assessments suggest the school may have been struck due to outdated or inaccurate intelligence regarding neighboring targets — the alleged intended target was a nearby Revolutionary Guard facility.

When a White House reporter asked President Donald Trump whether he accepts responsibility for the strike on the educational facility, he responded that he "doesn't know anything about that." Trump had previously claimed Iran carried out the attack itself, then said America could not be responsible, citing that "many countries possess Tomahawk cruise missiles." In reality, the only operational users of that system are the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.
