US President Donald Trump stated that the war between the United States and Iran could end soon, as most planned targets have already been destroyed. "When I want it to end, it will end," Trump said in a telephone interview.

"The war is going very well. We are well ahead of schedule. We have caused far more damage than we thought possible," the US president said.

However, US and Israeli officials indicate that internally no decision has yet been made on when fighting could stop. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the war will continue until all military objectives are achieved.

The United States and Israel began attacks on Iran on February 28, citing the failure of nuclear negotiations as justification for the preemptive operation. Meanwhile, Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and US forces have destroyed 16 Iranian vessels involved in that activity.
