619 drones and 47 missiles: Russia's record overnight attack on Ukraine while peace talks run in parallel

Russia launched what is its largest recorded overnight salvo this season: 47 missiles and 619 drones, nearly all aimed at Dnipro and 22 other regions. Ukraine's air defense reported intercepting the majority - 580 drones and 30 missiles. But even that "minority" is enough: 6 dead, 38 wounded, a residential building damaged, port infrastructure destroyed in Odesa, a residential district struck in Kharkiv.

In Odesa, the overnight attack killed a married couple. In Dnipro, a four-storey building took a direct hit. Poland and Romania scrambled fighter jets to protect their own airspace as drones approached their borders - a reminder that the war does not claim only Ukrainian victims.

In total, Russia lost 36 drones and 13 missiles that managed to break through. If 619 drones in a single attack sounds enormous - that's because it is enormous. Russia's military industry produces Shahed drones at assembly-line pace, not from a fixed arsenal. This attack is not an exception - it is the rhythm of a new military normal.

Peace talks are underway in Pakistan, and Russia is simultaneously launching a record attack. If anyone still believes Moscow is ready for a real peace - start counting the drones.
