At the „Bogorodica” border crossing this morning there is an increased flow of vehicles, the Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia (AMSM) reports. The waiting time to leave the country towards neighbouring Greece is around 15 minutes - which, for this season, is almost ideal.

At the other border crossings, AMSM adds, there are no longer delays on the Macedonian side for entry and exit. The live cameras of the state roads public enterprise, mounted at the crossings themselves, show queues of vehicles in all lanes heading towards Greece - but the queues are moving, not standing still.

For anyone planning a holiday in Greece, timing is everything. Travelling early in the morning or late at night is the difference between a 15-minute wait and a three-hour ordeal - the difference is made by the clock, not by luck. AMSM appeals for adjusted speed, respect for traffic signs and careful driving.

Bogorodica is the shortest route to the Greek beaches for a huge share of Macedonians, and every summer the same story - whoever sets off at the right moment passes through easily; whoever ends up in the queue at the peak of the day, waits.
