Part of Skopje's Centar municipality will be left without electricity for a full workday due to planned works on EVN's distribution grid. The outage hits the streets along the "Mother Teresa" boulevard.

According to EVN's notice, the works are part of routine maintenance and upgrades to the network. Customers on the affected streets have been warned in advance to take appropriate measures.

Planned power cuts are standard practice when maintaining the distribution grid. But in an era when more and more people work from home, a full-day outage isn't just an inconvenience - it's a lost workday for many.

The question is whether EVN informs citizens well enough, and whether works like these really have to last all day. In many European cities such interventions are done at night or in intervals of a few hours - precisely so that daily life isn't paralyzed.
