Brothers Denis (28) and Nezrin Hota (27) and 56-year-old Kenan Miralemović were killed during the night of April 20 in the Stari Aerodrom neighborhood in Podgorica. The suspect - 25-year-old Vehad Murić from Rožaje - stabbed them with a cold weapon while they slept, went home, beat his mother, and fled.
Police located him the same evening in downtown Rožaje following an intensive operation. According to Montenegrin media, the victims were his coworkers from a construction site. The motive: personal disputes.
The detail that chills is the timeline. A man kills three people in their sleep, goes home, attacks his mother, and runs. His mother reported him to the police. Podgorica was under police lockdown during the manhunt - the suspect's photos were released publicly and the city was on high alert.
The Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has taken over the case. Murić has been detained and will be charged with aggravated murder.
