Special Traffic Regime in Central Skopje This Saturday as a Race Takes Over the Streets

On Saturday afternoon the heart of Skopje will run on a special traffic regime because of a fun race through the city. The Interior Ministry says its Traffic Safety Department will manage movement from 5 to 6 p.m. to keep the event running safely.

The race starts at Porta Makedonija and heads down Dimitrie Čupovski Street, then right onto Vasil Glavinov, straight along VMRO Boulevard and left along Ilinden Boulevard to the intersection by the City Park, near the monument to Goce Delčev. For that stretch, traffic will be rerouted through the surrounding streets.

The Ministry is asking people to follow the officers' instructions to avoid jams. Worth taking the advice - if you were planning to cut through the center at that hour, better to delay or go around. For one hour the city core will belong to the race and to the people who came out to run, not to the cars. Sometimes, just for an hour, that's not a bad trade.
