Dojran Without Water Before Summer Even Starts: Citizens Demand an Answer, the Municipality Stays Silent

Summer is only just beginning, and Dojran is already running out of water. Residents of the lakeside town report daily outages and low pressure in the network - and right when temperatures are rising and the tourist season is supposed to fill the place with guests.

According to residents, on June 6 the water was cut off in the evening, and the next day there was none for more than two hours, with no warning of how long it would last. "Every day there's no water, and let's not even talk about the pressure. In this heat, with summer just starting - having no water is misery," one resident relays the frustration shared by many.

The questions they're asking aren't random, and they aren't new. Why does the problem repeat every season? Does the municipality have a plan to stabilize supply when the population multiplies in summer? And the most uncomfortable one - why are building permits still being issued, while the water network clearly can't sustain even the existing users?

Residents are demanding a public explanation from mayor Ilija Tentov and from the responsible authorities. Because water in Dojran isn't just a utility question - it directly hits households, restaurants, accommodation providers and the tourists the town lives off. And a town that lives off tourism but has no water in summer is undermining its own future. The question is whether anyone in the municipality sees this - or is just waiting for the season to pass, so the problem dries up on its own until next summer.
