As part of the „Bright Municipality of Ilinden" initiative, the municipality is pressing on with modernising its public lighting. Over the past period, new modern LED street lighting has gone up at several locations, running about 1,500 metres in total.

LED lighting is more than a cosmetic upgrade - it draws far less power than the old fixtures, which over the long run means lower bills for the municipality, and therefore for its residents.
