Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire Extended by Three Weeks: A Pause to Reload, Not Peace

US President Donald Trump announced the extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon for another three weeks. The decision came after talks with both sides, although fighting on the ground continues.

Lebanon announced it will seek additional extensions and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces during the negotiations. Trump, who is simultaneously waging a conflict with Iran and dealing with Middle East escalation, apparently decided that at least one front should remain frozen.

Three weeks of ceasefire. Sounds good - until you look at the fact that the last several ceasefires ended with new rockets. A ceasefire in the Middle East is a pause to reload, not peace.
