Starmer harshly criticized Israel and Trump over rising bills

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer sharply criticized Israeli strikes on Lebanon and condemned the influence of American President Donald Trump on global energy prices.

"I am fed up with families seeing their bills rise because of moves by Trump or Putin", Starmer declared during his visit to the Middle East, making unequivocal statements against Israeli military operations.

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper warned that Israeli strikes are "extremely damaging" and threaten regional stability. She stressed that London holds a "different" position from Washington and called for an extension of the ceasefire in Lebanon.

On Wednesday, Israel carried out surprise strikes on central Beirut within ten minutes, hitting around 100 targets as part of operations against Hezbollah. Local authorities reported approximately 112 killed.

Cooper also criticized Trump's military rhetoric regarding Iran, stating that the administration's language had proven "completely wrong" and that escalatory rhetoric produces escalatory consequences.
