Trump Attacked Both the Pope and NATO in the Same Day: "Weak on Crime, Terrible at Policy"

Donald Trump, via Truth Social, demanded that "someone please tell Pope Francis that it is absolutely unacceptable that Iran possesses a nuclear bomb." In the same breath, he called the Pope "weak on crime and terrible at foreign policy." And NATO? "They were not with us and will not be with us in the future."

All in one day. One man, two fronts - the Vatican and Brussels.

Trump also shared an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ, only to delete it later with the explanation that it actually depicted him "as a doctor healing people." Interpretation is left to the reader's imagination.

The Pope responds without responding

Francis refused to engage in a polemic. "I will not participate in debates. What I say is not an attack on anyone. The Gospel message is clear: 'Blessed are the peacemakers,'" he said, adding he is not afraid of Trump's administration and will continue advocating for peace and dialogue.

Context is key: Trump criticizes the papal position while the US and Israel conduct military operations against Iran, and the Pope warns of "the delusion of almighty power." Two worlds, two languages - and an ocean between them. In the Balkans, where religion and politics have long been intertwined, does this sound familiar?
