The Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra is back in Zagreb. On October 16, 2026, at Tvornica Kulture, the seven-piece outfit from Barcelona stages a concert that keeps building a bridge between Balkan tradition and contemporary European music - with a second date on October 17.
For fourteen years now the orchestra has fused the Balkan musical tradition with a modern European sound, without falling into folkloric cliché. Fronted by vocalist Margarita Abita, the band arrives with its announced seventh studio album - the first to feature original compositions, after years devoted exclusively to traditional arrangements.
After a sold-out concert at Zagreb's Lisinski hall last spring, the orchestra returns to a more intimate space. Tvornica Kulture is one of the city's favourite venues for this kind of show, with an atmosphere that suits the energy of the band's Balkan-Mediterranean sound.
Tickets are on sale through entrio.hr, at an advance price of around 26 euros. The concert is in Croatia, in Zagreb, for readers planning a trip to the event.
