Smak, one of the great legends of Yugoslav rock, is stepping onto the biggest stage in Belgrade. On December 16, at the Belgrade Arena starting at 8 p.m., the band led by guitar master Radomir Mihajlović Točak has booked an arena-format concert - a rarity for a band with this kind of history.
Smak, whose name comes from „Samostalni muzički ansambl Kragujevac" (the Independent Music Ensemble of Kragujevac), was founded in 1971 in Kragujevac. Točak, born in Čačak in 1950, built his status as a guitar hero with the instrumental „Ulazak u harem", still considered one of the defining works of the Yugoslav rock scene. The band peaked in the seventies, when it was one of the most important names on the Yugoslav scene of the day, with a lineup that for a time included vocalist Boris Aranđelović and keyboardist Laza Ristovski.
The concert at the Belgrade Arena isn't just another veteran-band gig - it's proof that Smak, more than half a century after forming, can still fill the biggest hall in Serbia. For an audience that grew up with Yugoslav rock, it's a chance to hear the classics in a space the band rarely got in its early decades.
Tickets start at 2,500 dinars through tickets.rs. The concert starts at 8 p.m. at the Belgrade Arena.
